Maker Faire Rome – the European Edition is becoming even more astonishing as it moves inside the “La Sapienza”, the main University of Rome and the largest in Europe.
Founded in 1303, “La Sapienza” is ranked among the top places on an international scale. “Sapienza” is means wisdom and knowledge: the perfect venue for Maker Faire Rome – European Edition which aims to transform it, for 3 days, from the “university city” we all know, into the “city of a potential future”.
“La Sapienza” is situated in a strategic location in the city centre, near Roma Termini train station and is easily accessible from (AV) Tiburtina station and the airports. What’s more, it is being held in one of the coolest and most vibrant and areas of the capital: San Lorenzo!

By public transport

FROM ROMA TERMINI TRAIN STATION
You can reach the University City, home to MakerFaireRome, on foot or with Bus no. 310, getting off at the stop for Università/Regina Elena.

FROM TIBURTINA TRAIN STATION
You can reach the City University, home to MakerFaireRome, with Buses no. 492 and 71, getting off at the stop for Verano/De Lollis.

FROM FIUMICINO AIRPORT “Leonardo da Vinci”

By train

  • Leonardo Express is the non-stop service dedicated exclusively to airport passengers to/from Roma Termini station, with departures every 30 minutes and a journey time of 31 minutes.

    From Roma Termini Station, you can then reach the University City, home to MakerFaireRome, either on foot or by bus (no. 310, getting off at Università/Regina Elena)
  • Using regional train line FL1 from/to other stations in Rome, including Roma Tiburtina and Roma Tuscolana, with departures every 15 minutes on weekdays and every 30 minutes on public holidays.

By bus
There are bus services between Fiumicino Airport and Rome’s central station “Roma Termini”.

By taxi
At Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 5 of Fiumicino Airport, you’ll find the taxi service for Rome. The cars of the City of Rome’s official taxi service are white and can be recognised by the “TAXI” sign. To reach the central areas of Rome (within the Aurelian Walls) from the airport, there is a flat fee of 48 Euro.

Car rental
Several companies offer rental car services located inside the airport.
Their offices can be found in the walkway that connects the airport terminal with levels B and C of the multi-storey car park.

Car rental with driver
In the “arrivals” area of Fiumicino Airport, you have the option of a rental service with driver under the abbreviation “NCC” is available to you, usually provided by blue or gray cars. FROM CIAMPINO AIRPORT “Giovan Battista Pastine”

By train
The nearest train station to “Giovan Battista Pastine Airport” is Ciampino Città, connected by the COTRAL/SCHIAFFINI buses departing every 30 minutes. On average, the journey time is 5 minutes. A light rail service connects Ciampino train station with “Roma Termini” station with an average journey time of 15 minutes.

By bus
You can reach Ciampino Airport with several bus lines.
The airport is connected to Roma Termini railway station by a daily public transport service with company bus lines

Car Rental

Their offices are located at the entrance to the Airport, in Via Mameli, next to car park P8. A free shuttle service is available to/from the Departures Hall.
